Alan Wake 2 is about to get a major update with its second story expansion, Lake House. Originally planned for a big reveal, the release date was leaked ahead of time by an Australian retailer. Remedy Entertainment, the creators of Alan Wake 2, confirmed that the official announcement would come during the Xbox Partner Preview event on October 17th.
According to the retailer’s website (thanks Reddit), the Lake House DLC is set to release on October 22, 2024. This coincides with the release of the game’s physical editions, including both Deluxe and Collector’s versions. These physical editions will bundle the base game with both expansions. For those who already own the digital version, accessing the new content will require purchasing the Expansion Pass.
The Expansion Pass includes two major story expansions: Night Springs, which was released in June, and Lake House, set to launch next week. Remedy describes the upcoming DLC as “set in an eerie new location on the shores of Cauldron Lake. Within the Federal Bureau of Control’s research station, the Lake House, a catastrophic event has occurred, where reckless experiments have caused reality to collide with the Dark Place.” Players will follow separate adventures involving Alan Wake and Saga Anderson as their realities collide once again.
With the physical editions of Alan Wake 2 launching soon, fans who prefer to have the game in their collection will be able to get both expansions in one package. For digital players, the Expansion Pass is the key to unlocking these story-driven DLCs, continuing the saga in this dark and mysterious world.
Expect more details during the Xbox Partner Preview event on October 17th, where Remedy will likely confirm the leaked release date.
