YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS ARE DEAD. Words that haunted and/or frustrated many a gamer back in 1989 after being greeted with failure in the officially licensed Friday the 13th video game for the NES. Now, after a quarter-century of absence, Jason Vorhees is coming back to terrorize gamers in a brand-new Friday the 13th game slated to launch this Halloween.
According to F13 series creator Sean S. Cunningham, the game will be an asymmetrical co-op/competitive horror slash-em-up that integrates elements from the movie series as well as the upcoming television show. One player will take control of the machete butcher himself, who must systematically hunt down and kill the others, who must collaborate and co-operate as stock horror movie teens in order to survive Jason’s rampage.
Although the tentatively-titled Friday the 13th’s exact release date, developer and supported platforms are as-of-yet unknown, Cunningham assures that all will be revealed in the coming weeks when the title is officially announced.
