Tony Pankhurst, the renowned actor known for his role as the Curator in The Dark Pictures Anthology by Supermassive Games, has passed away at the age of 67. He died on May 9, and his funeral was held on June 7.
His family confirmed the news on a tribute page and encouraged donations to Hospice in the Weald, which provided care for him in his final weeks.

Pankhurst’s acting career spanned over 40 years across film, TV, and radio. He provided the likeness for the Curator, a mysterious in-game narrator, in The Dark Pictures Anthology titles: Man of Medan, Little Hope, House of Ashes, and The Devil in Me. Although Pip Torrens provided the voice and motion capture for the Curator, Pankhurst portrayed a live-action version of the character in a trailer for House of Ashes in 2021.
Born in 1957, Pankhurst also had minor roles in major films like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Supermassive Games expressed their condolences on Twitter, noting, “Tony was the face of the Curator, and we loved working with him.”
Pankhurst’s family expressed their hope to hear stories about his life from his fans and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and admired his work.
