A fan is remaking LSD: Dream Emulator in Unity

A mysterious person known as “Figglewatts” has been working on a remake of the Playstation 1 cult-classic LSD: Dream Emulator since 2011 and has recently made his work public with a demo and screenshots.

In LSD: Dream Emulator the player is placed in a variety of surreal worlds and is encouraged to explore them until their character wakes up again. These dreams can be somewhat pleasant, but most of the time they are weird and creepy, which worked well with the early-3D style that was common on the first Playstation console. The remake is developed in Unity3D and therefore compatible with windows, negating the need to emulate the game via software. The project will be faithful to the original, but some new content will be added and players will be allowed to create and install mods.

The remake is being developed for Windows, Mac and Linux, but only the Windows version is stable at the moment. The developer is also raising funds in order to help the game’s development and add Oculus Rift supported.
