Fresh off of the release of Zero Escape:Zero Time Dilemma, Aksys Games has confirmed that 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors and Virtue’s Last Reward will be coming to unspecified “other systems” this year. The port and localization developer held an expert panel at Anime Expo 2016, which gave them a chance to discuss the Zero Escape series. This is the second time this summer that fans have been given hope for 999; a playful Twitter exchange by Spike Chunsoft in June hinted at both Steam and Vita releases.
Sorry. Maybe my previous tweet should have been written as follows. “It looks like a vital steamship.” Thank you!

999 is the first game in the Zero Escape series, but was released only on Nintendo 3DS in game format, and iOS as a visual novel. Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward was released for 3DS and PS Vita. The storyline of the entire series is heavily dependent on relationships set up in 999, so the expansion to other platforms could clear up many questions for players new to the series. While the developer did not specify platforms, it would be unsurprising to see the games on PS Vita and PC to match Zero Time Dilemma. With their tweet about a “vital steamship”, we can pretty safely assume that is exactly what we will see.
