In this week’s Famitsu, The 3rd Birthday director Hajime Tabata has begun to discuss what his next project might be. While the director admits that he doesn’t have a whole lot going on at the moment, that doesn’t mean that he’s ready to retire.
Tabata stated that he would like to to work on a console game (as he’s said in previous interviews on the subject) or a sequel to the 3rd Birthday. However, even though he’s come up with a couple of ideas for it, he states that Square will probably have him working on a follow-up to Final Fantasy Type -O instead.
If the 3rd Birthday wasn’t exactly your thing (kind of like us), Tabata also has Final Fantasy Crisis Core to his name, as well as the previously mentioned Final Fantasy Type-0. Perhaps whenever Tabata is able to pursue his dreams of another Parasite Eve game, he might just go after two birds with one stone and make it a console entry? While we can’t exactly tell if we’d be willing to get our hopes up about a 3rd Birthday sequel just yet, we can’t be all that dismissive about it, either.
