“999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors” was the cult hit Nintendo DS game that overflowed with extreme atmosphere, creative puzzles, and a fantastic story. Our review for the original game unfortunately is no longer up, but we loved it to bits. A Japanese spiritual sequel for the Nintendo 3DS was announced last August, and released less than a week ago on February 16th, titled “Kyokugen Dasshutsu Adv: Zennin Shibō Desu,” which translates to, “Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die.” People were worried that due to it’s cult status and vicious scenes, that the sequel wouldn’t be coming to American shores.
Well rest easy. Via Nintendo Power magazine, the game has been officially announced for America to be coming out later this year. Like the first game, it’s a story and puzzle-based fight for survival with multiple surprising story branches and disturbing scenes. You can check out the original Japanese trailer below. We’ll keep you guys updated as more news comes.
