There were a lot of tech demos shown right before the Playstation Move was released. Remember looking at all of those trailers and thinking “that’s awesome!” or if you hate motion controls you were like “that looks…r–[redacted].” We’ll maintain that the Playstation Move holds a lot of promise, as does the Xbox Kinect, but is there room for survival horror?
Perhaps. While we like Resident Evil 5 (for the most part) and Heavy Rain’s implementation of Playstation Move, many of us are still looking for a reason to pick up the glowing orb controller.
There has been some buzzing in the Sony circles that there’s a nice Christmas present for people that own a Playstation Move. While it might be a bit of a long shot, we’re looking back to those tech demos for a little “guiding light.” The full announcement will be made on December 9, 2010.
According to a contact within the company, this new title will “appeal to all of our fans, including the hardcore.”
This “trailer” we’re referring to was released last year during the annual European Gamescom show – a developer’s update. The game we’re pinpointing shows a man wandering around a creepy dark house with only his flashlight to guide the way. There are several pictures, courtesy of Playstation Lifestyle.
News is a little dry right now for survival-horror, so we’re hoping that this ‘is’ that game demoed but not released yet. And we also hope that this isn’t just another one of Sony’s tech demos that never sees the light of day. You know the one we’re talking about…
