Welcome back to DailyVania! It’s been a while since I’ve gone back to this feature but now it’s back in full force. Today we’ll be looking at the eventual release of 3D Classics: Castlevania for the 3DS’ eShop. The game was shown off in a highlight reel at last year’s E3 but no actual release date was given. Thus far, 3DS owners only have one of these 3D classics to enjoy and that game is Excitebike. So, with Nintendo updating the shop on Thursdays, could we be getting Castlevania tomorrow?
We’ll most likely end up having to wait a bit longer for this game to hit the eShop but hey, you never know. Nintendo hasn’t really released a schedule for these 3D Classics so it could practically hit any week. I’m personally betting on it hitting close to or on the week of the series’ 25th anniversary this coming September. It would really be a nice treat for fans.
The picture above is one of the only pictures around the web that you can find of this 3D version of the game. Obviously we can’t see the actual 3D effects ourselves and we can barely see anything at all due to the image being quite blurry but it’s something at least. We can definitely make out the classic intro sequence, though, and it should be quite stunning to see this NES classic running with 3D effects. I can just picture it now…
So, are you excited for 3D Classics: Castlevania? Would you want to see Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest and Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse get the same treatment in the future? Discuss in the comments below and see you all back tomorrow!
