Publisher Gun Interactive and developer Sumo Nottingham have just posted a brand new pic of the ‘Family House’ map that will be featured in the upcoming The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game via the game’s official Twitter account.
This reveal comes on the heels of a side-by-side comparison video that compared various original film locations with their painstakingly recreated digital counterparts.
The new map not only features the cannibal family’s gigantic Texas farmhouse but also the wide expanse of land that surrounds it. The developer also teased other locations they’ll be revealing later this week.
You’ve seen the screenshots, you’ve seen the side by side. Now take a closer look at the playable space on The Family House map in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
Stay tuned all this week for a look at The Gas Station and Slaughterhouse, as well as an upcoming Hub post! pic.twitter.com/Q7S0b6BDti

One of the more notorious landmarks of the surrounding property is the camouflage netting-covered, abandoned lot full of old cars, which presumably belonged to previous victims of the murderous family, though this is never stated outright in the original 1974 film. The lot is located behind the farmhouse and was an ominous harbinger of what was to befall the hapless group of five youths.
The land surrounding the house is also where the family’s gas generator is located (the whole reason the film’s first victim, Kirk, enters the house). Maybe this will feature in the gameplay somehow, similar to how the generators were used in Friday the 13th: The Game.
The developers also elaborated on their goal with the game, saying:
We’ve made a focused effort to ensure that what our players see is the closest representation possible to what Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel brought to viewers on the big screen, and then we expand upon the world in a way that honors and builds on what already exists.
We are giving our players the experience of what it would be like for them to step into the shoes of one of the Slaughter family or their victims and see how they would fare in horrifying situations that are every bit as compelling and entertaining a story as what happened to Sally and her friends in the original film.
I’m incredibly excited about this game. Not only do we have a developer that cares as much about the quality and authenticity of the game as the fans, but it also features original Chain Saw actor Ed Neal returning to voice the Hitchhiker and Kane Hodder providing the motion capture for Leatherface!
