FNAF Movie Unleashes Rampaging Animatronics This Halloween

Five Nights at Freddy's

The spooky season is just around the corner and is shaping up to be a doozy, what with all the AAA horror games releasing, as well as plenty of terrifying movies on the way. In addition to games like Alan Wake 2 and Alone in the Dark, and movies like The Exorcist: Believer and Saw X, you can add another well-known title to the roster of upcoming releases, as Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s movie releases in theaters and will be streaming on Peacock on October 27th, just in time for Halloween.

Blumhouse, the film and television production company that’s produced such recent horror thrillers as M3GAN and The Invisible Man, promises to deliver Five Nights at Freddy’s to the big screen in a way it has never been seen before, which can be seen in a recently released teaser trailer for the film.

Five Nights at Freddy'sDirected by Emma Tammi and written by Scott Cawthon, Emma Tammi, and Seth Cuddeback, moviegoers will encounter some familiar faces with a star-studded cast hailing from horror as well as thriller media. The cast includes Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), Matthew Lillard (Scream), Elizabeth Lail (You), Kat Conner Sterling (9-1-1), Piper Rubio (Unstable), and Mary Stuart Masterson (Blindspot.) Notably, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop will be handling the horrific animatronic design FNAF is known for.

Jason Blum will be producing the film in association with Striker Entertainment. Russell Binder and Marc Mostman are also listed as producers.

For the few of you who aren’t aware, Five Nights at Freddy’s is a popular horror video game series in which you must survive five nights at the eponymous Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza by overseeing several security cameras at the pizzeria that depict several rooms in which the animatronic characters might be dormant or heading straight toward you at freakish speed. In order to prevent the game from ending, you must shut the doors before the crazed animatronic gets to you.

It will be interesting to see how Blumhouse will adapt these gameplay mechanics and portrays the scares in the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s movie.
