According to the Polish gaming site GRYOnline, development on the long-gestating S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has resumed. This news comes via the official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Discord.
As we reported earlier in March, the game’s developer, GSC Game World, was forced to relocate from their base of operations in Ukraine to Czechia, due to the ongoing war, in order to complete the game. The game was initially intended for an April 28th release but in January, the developer announced that they would be pushing the release date back to December 8, 2022, in order for the game to be properly polished. We may get further details at the upcoming Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase event, which is scheduled for June 12.
In addition to the announcement that development has resumed, GSC also elaborated on what to expect from the game’s difficulty settings, saying:
We will prepare enough difficulty settings for the player to find the right level of challenge. There will be something even for real connoisseurs of ‘hardcore.’
The developer is doing all they can to complete the game during this crisis. If you would like to help them, you can donate using the links below.
