More and more easter eggs are being discovered in the wake of the release of the Death Stranding Director’s Cut, along with a variety of accompanying theories debating their meaning.
Among these newly discovered easter eggs is one involving main character Sam Porter Bridges and a surreal dream he has involving what looks like a B.T. (or ‘Beached Things’) in his private room.
Twitter user OpyGam3r shared a clip of the scene earlier today:
In Death Stranding Director’s Cut, there’s a moment where Sam gets a nightmare about a BT in the shower.
Does the BT remind you of anyone…? 👀🤔👻🤫 #PS5@Kojima_Hideo @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN pic.twitter.com/sdbDjTzXwu

Reactions to the tweet quickly drew comparisons to other media and references such as Jacob’s Ladder, Metal Gear Solid series’ FOXHOUND member Psycho Mantis from MGS1, as well as the gone, but never forgotten Silent Hills, specifically since the scene reuses sound effects from the infamous Playable Teaser. Close-ups of the entity shown in the video appear to show it wearing sunglasses.
By now we’re aware of the hard work and immense talent behind Kojima Productions’ development style and hopefully, a collaboration with acclaimed horror mangaka Junji Ito. We look forward to what else is in store for projects to follow in the future as well as what other secrets fans can unearth and discuss.
