Scott Cawthon, the creator of the popular Five Nights at Freddy’s series has revealed on the Steam news page for the fourth game that he’s making a new title. Called Five Nights at Freddy’s World (or FNAF World for short), the game will be a role-playing title featuring a party of the many creepy characters and their many freaky forms from that franchise. This includes their toy, phantom, and nightmare versions just to name a few.
While sharing the same universe, Cawthon makes a point that it does not contribute more to the plot of the main four games which are ( in his words) complete. This isn’t actually Cawthon’s first foray into a role playing game either as he’s incorporated elements of those mechanics into one of his earlier games, The Desolate Hope.
While originally hoping to have a demo out by Halloween, Cawthon has shared some regret in the fact it won’t be ready by then, but that he’ll release a playable build when he can. FNAF World plans to be out on PC, iOS, and Android with currently no known release date.
