2013 is the year for Nintendo to prove that the Wii U is a console worthy of its illustrious track record in the industry as well as fans’ expectations. So, to do that, you need the games!
The Wii U’s launch was pretty solid, thanks to exclusives like Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros. U and Zombi U, as well as third-party games finally arriving on a Nintendo home console like Batman: Arkham City and Mass Effect 3. But in order to succeed, Nintendo needs to increase the amount of hardcore-friendly exclusives on the console, convincing others to see what all the fuss with the new GamePad is about. So that’s where tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct presentation from the house that Mario built comes in!
The suspense and excitement is at a pretty high level right now. We really don’t know what to expect from tomorrow’s showing, other than new Wii U game reveals. The just-confirmed Wii U version of Resident Evil Revelations could definitely be shown off, with its controls getting the spotlight. But would that be it for Resident Evil on Wii U?
In comes this new rumor from the french website Gamekyo. The site speculates that the highly demanded remake of Resident Evil 2 might actually be revealed at the presentation. I think this would be a brilliant move by Capcom, announcing this a couple of days after the original game’s 15th anniversary. What a gift to fans this would be. But, at this point, we’ll just have to wait and see if it ends up happening!
Be sure to tune in to tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct, which will have videos showing in North America, Europe and Japan simultaneously at 2pm GMT (9am EST).
Oh, and yes, I do know how to read, write and speak le francais!
