I’ve probably told the story already, but I always clearly remember the rainy night I went to pick up my copy of Resident Evil 3 from a local Toys R Us. The game went on to become one of my favorite horror titles. To this day, it’s hard to replicate that sense of dread I felt when as I was being chased by Nemesis in the mean streets of Raccoon City. Recently, Alien: Isolation catered to my love for that type of horror. If a Resident Evil 3 remake ever gets made, I would love to see a system employed for Nemmy similar to that of the Xenomorph. And speaking of a remake…
Resident Evil 3’s scenario writer Yasuhisa Kawamura has expressed great interest in working on a remake for the game. In an interview with Eurogamer, looking back at his career, he stated:
“I am very fond of Biohazard. To be honest, I would love to remake Biohazard 3 with today’s technology and skills. However Capcom would never try that, and I am not that much of a valuable member to Capcom. The Biohazard series is created by Capcom’s most elite members. It’s hard to imagine myself fitting in with such a prestigious team. Even if I were to successfully work on a Biohazard 3 remake, there’s already Operation Racoon City and The Umbrella Chronicles. I doubt I have any chance.”
An HD remastered edition of the Resident Evil Remake is now available on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Hopefully one day we see remakes for both Resident Evil 2 and 3!
